India gears up to take on Bayern Munich


The Indian national football team world will take Bayern Munich, one of the biggest football clubs in Europe on Tuesday in Delhi. And the man in the centre of all the attraction is the face of Indian football - Bhaichung Bhutia. The former India captain will lead the side in his final game in an India shirt - 4 months after retiring from international football. Bhaichung will play his farewell game at the Jawaharlal Nehru stadium and after last playing for India for 10 minutes in the Asian Cup last year in Qatar.

Rain, Snow aggravate cold in North India


Heavy snowfall has disrupted normal life Himachal Pradesh. Temperatures in Kangra dipped to minus four degree celsius and in Manali, it was around minus seven degree celsius. Residents of Dharamshala had to wade through snowfall of over four feet. Punjab continued to reel under harsh cold conditions. Pathankot saw its first snowfall in decades. Temperatures dipped to a minimum 3.0 degree. In Ludhiana, the temperature stood at 6.0 degrees. In the national capital, there is no respite from the chill and the homeless continue to bear the brunt. The minimum temperature settled at 6 degree celsius but is expected to plunge further in the coming days.

Wheeling an education into India's slums


For millions of India's poorest children, education is a luxury, not a right. Many impoverished young people live in slums and help support their families by taking on odd jobs. One charity organisation is taking the issue to the streets, in the form of a mobile classroom that brings education to children who cannot attend schools. Al Jazeera's Prerna Suri reports from New Delhi.
